LEGENDS DAY - A MASSIVE SUCCESS

Clifton Legends Day was held on 27th Sept, and supported by a raft of current and former players and their families.

Players from every decade since the 50's descended on the Clifton Oval, and reminisced "the good old days", as the ground basked in glorious sunshine.

The entertainment was provided by a team of "Legends" from the 90's that came together to roll back the years, versus a team of more recently departed "Legends".

Batting first the 90's boys racked up 134, thanks largely to a bludgeoning 50 from Kristian Murden (despite 3 drinks breaks in 10 overs).  Able assistance came from Barry Shepherd's thumb and Alec Cottingham.

In reply, the young lads were always in control despite a brace of wickets by Joe Thorpe, including a very good catch at deep mid-wicket by Andy McCafferty.  Craig Fairhall finished the old boys off in style with some massive 6 hitting at the end to entertain the huge crowd.20170827_Legends_Day
